Why choose interior folding doors?

Interior folding doors, also referred to as internal bi-fold doors, internal concertina doors, or half folding doors, are one of the smartest space-saving solutions available for homes. Unlike a standard hinged door that swings out into a room, a bi-fold door folds flat against the frame when open, reclaiming the floor space in front of it. That makes them particularly well-suited to any room where every centimetre counts.

Where do internal bi-folding doors work best?

The most common installations are ensuites, airing cupboards, under-stair storage and built-in wardrobes – essentially, anywhere a conventional door would clash with furniture, obstruct a tight corridor, or just feel impractical. They’re equally effective as a flexible room divider: pair two folding sets together and you can section off a larger space whilst keeping the option to open it right up when needed.

For anyone searching for space-saving internal doors, folding interior doors offer a clean, practical answer without compromising on how the finished result looks.

Fold flat internal bifold doors: practical and stylish

One of the most common questions we hear is whether internal concertina doors look good once fitted. The answer is yes, and the key is to choose a design that ties in with the other doors in your home. JB Kind’s internal bi-folding doors are available across a number of our most popular ranges, from cottage-style oak doors to white moulded doors and shaker internal door designs, so you can match the look throughout.

Each door folds completely flat when open, sitting neatly alongside the frame rather than protruding into the room. When closed, the panel lines and finish look just as considered as any standard internal door.
